Can any mobile phone work with mHITs?

Yes, any phone will work as long as it uses one of the "Supported Networks". Your mobile must also be able to send and receive SMS text messages. If in doubt email support@mhits.com.au.

Absolutely, so long as you have a compatible mobile phone and it can send and receive sms messages.

Can I register more than one mobile number with mHITs?

Yes, but each mobile number will have its own separate mHITs account. You cannot group your mHITs accounts together. You can of course send money between accounts using mHITs.

Do I need a credit card to use mHITs?

No credit cards are required to set up your mHITs account. You don't even need to have a bank account to use mHITs. You only need a bank account if you want to transfer money out of your mHITs account.

How can I check what payments I have made or received?

Too easy. All transactions are listed in your mHITs account. Login and go to the Transaction History page.

How do I accept mHITs as a payment method for my business?

How do I add money to my mHITs account?

The easiest way to do this is get someone to pay you! Else you can load your mHITs account using Internet Banking or BPAY.

How do I check my mHITs account balance?

Simply TXT the word "Balance" to 0428 696 448 (0428 MY MHIT). You will then receive an sms with your mHITs account balance. You can also check your mHITs account balance online. Login in and your account balance will be displayed.

How do I load my mHITs account using BPAY?

To load your mHITs account using BPAY, you will need the mHITs BPAY Biller Code and your Reference Number. These are displayed on your mHITs login. Then use your Telephone or Internet Banking to make the payment using the BPAY option.

How is mHITs secure?

mHITs is an extremely secure way to conduct your transactions. Here's why:

  1. All transactions are performed from YOUR mobile phone

    To perform any mHITs transaction, you must physically use your mobile phone. This ensures that only you can perform a transaction.

  2. All transactions must be personally authorised

    Unlike credit card and direct debit systems which allow auto-debiting of your account, every mHITs transaction must be personally authorised. This puts you, and only you, in total control of every transaction.

  3. Instant notification of all transactions

    Whenever an mHITs transaction occurs on your account, you are notified INSTANTLY by sms.

  4. No transactions can be performed via our website

    This eliminates the possibility of Internet fraud.

  5. Monitoring of transactions

    All mHITs transactions are monitored by our fraud prevention team.

  6. No credit card details are stored

    Unlike credit card systems where details can be stored, each mHITs transaction must be performed by an individual. This means that all transactions must be personally authorised each time they occur.

How long does it take for money to appear in my mHITs account?

Drumroll please.........Instantly!

All payments will show up in your mHITs account straight away! However, payments to and from your bank account to your mHITs may take up to two or three business days depending on your bank. This delay is due to the banks, not us!

If your money is not in your mHITs account after three working days, please contact accounts@mhits.com.au.

How long does it take to receive notification of a payment?

Another drumroll...............Instantly! Your payment should made to and from your mHITs account straight away. However, sometimes delays in mobile phone networks mean that this message could be slightly delayed. If you have not received an sms reply or confirmation within 30 minutes, please contact support@mhits.com.au.

How much does it cost to use mHITs?

mHITs is absolutely FREE! It is FREE to join and mHITs does not charge you for using the service. You will only be charged a small fee if you transfer money from mHITs to your bank account or for some methods of loading your mHITs account (e.g. branch deposit). For a full list of fees click here

But don't forget, your mobile phone company may charge you for sending an sms message.

I did not receive a payment confirmation.

You should check your mHITs transaction history online to make sure that the payment has registered on your account. If so, email support@mhits.com.au and include your mobile number, the mobile number of the person sending or receiving the payment, the amount, approximate date/time of the payment, and your mobile network name.

I have no credit on my mobile phone and can't send sms messages.

Oops! You will have to get more credit so you can send an sms from your mobile. You cannot make payments with mHITs online

I transferred money from my bank to mHITs, and it hasn't shown up yet?

This can happen for one of two reasons. One: Public holidays may delay processing of transactions by one day. And two:mHITs may have received your money, but is unable determine which mHITs account to deposit it into. This happens if your mHITs mobile number does not appear in the description or reference field of the bank transfer. In this case, mHITs has your money in a special suspense account, and can give it to you once we have verified that you own the money. In order to claim the funds, you must contact mHITs support at support@mhits.com.au, and include your full name, your mobile number, the date of the transfer, the amount of the transfer, the contents of the description or reference field, the BSB and the account number of the account from which the money was transferred. Once mHITs support has verified that you own the money, it will be instantly deposited into your mHITs account.

If I have a business, can I use mHITs as a payment method?

Yes, to do this need to register an mHITs merchant facility. A merchant facility provides more payment flexibilty and additional reporting and transaction managment functions. See "Merchants" for more details.

Is there a daily transaction limit?

The maximum daily transaction limit on payments made from your mHITs account or between mHITs accounts is $200. This is a cumulative daily total and re-sets at midnight.

Is there a limit to the amount of money that I can keep in my mHITs account?

At this time there is no limit to the amount of money that you can keep in your mHITs account. However, there may be limits on the value of payments that you can make or receive using the mHITs service.

Is there a limit to the amount of money that I can transfer with mHITs?

There is no limit to the amount of money that you can receive into your mHITs account. However, there is a daily transfer limit of $1000 from your mHITs account to your bank account (from midnight to midnight). And as mentioned, there is also a $200 daily limit (from midnight to midnight) on making payments from your mHITs account or between mHITs accounts.

Why do I have to activate my mHITs account?

The activation process is the way that we can confirm that your mobile is owned by you! When you register, we send you a special code by SMS that you need to enter in step 04 of the Sign Up process.
